Common roller door problems
- Heavy to lift or won't stay up – the drum spring has lost tension and needs re-tensioning.
- Door runs crooked or jams – bent guides, a slipped drum or a damaged curtain edge.
- Loud rattling – loose brackets, worn guide strips or a lack of lubrication.
- Bottom rail damage – common after a car bump, and usually repairable.
- Lock won't turn – seized locks and bent lock bars, which we repair or replace.
New roller doors
We supply roller doors in standard colours and sizes for homes, sheds and carports, with wind-rated options where the building needs them. Roller doors need only a small amount of headroom, so they're often the right choice for low garages and sheds. We can motorise new and existing roller doors with a dedicated roller door opener.
Thinking about upgrading?
Swapping a tired roller door for a sectional door is one of the most common upgrades we do on 1970s and 80s homes. Sectionals are quieter and seal better against wind-driven rain. If the headroom allows, we'll quote both options.

Roller Doors: common questions
Why is my roller door so heavy?
The spring inside the drum has lost tension over time. A re-tension makes the door light and easy again and takes strain off the motor.
Can you add a motor to my old roller door?
Usually, yes. We check the door's condition and tension first, then fit a roller door opener sized for it.
Do you install roller doors on sheds?
Yes, for domestic sheds, carports and workshops across the Gold Coast and hinterland.
